Why Safer Beauty Matters (Part 2)

Let me start by saying that, by God’s grace, I have been able to heal my skin once and for all. But that doesn’t mean it happened without hard work, commitment, and sacrifice. All good things do, right? I’ll be sure to share all the details of my protocol in another post, but for now let’s focus on the fun part. I spent many months weeding things out of my beauty and skincare routine as I learned about products and ingredients and what risks came along with them. See Part 1 if this post for more details about all that! But there came a day where I couldn’t even use deodorant. I stopped using the toxic stuff and my skin was too hypersensitive at the time for the natural versions. No more makeup, moisturizers, hair care…nothing! My skin needed to be able to fully breathe and detox and I didn’t want ANYTHING interfering with that.

As I began to heal, I was searching and searching for products I really loved. I remember going to Whole Foods and spending what felt like SO MUCH money on organic pure shea butter, a “primal” deodorant, and a couple other things. I hated all of it and so did my skin. Eventually, I got kinda used to buying safer products that really didn’t live up to what I was using before, but at least they weren’t poisoning me slowly! And that had to be good enough, right?

WELL…that was until I tried Beautycounter.

Now, you have to know something about me. I am not a bandwagon jumper, or follow the crowd kind of gal. I’m the forge my own path and do my own research type. So when many practitioners and coaches in the health and wellness sphere were talking about Beautycounter, I naturally dismissed it. Just another MLM, just another “join my team” speech, just another side hustle that makes enemies out of acquaintances by disrespectfully sliding into the DM’s–you know the sort. But that was until I tried the products. I was BLOWN.A-WAY.

Safer products, screened for heavy metals, in sustainable packaging, and they actually work?!? They actually perform like high end Sephora-style products, but they wont interfere with my skin healing protocol? Sounds too good to be true. Well, it isn’t. One month after my first order with Beautycounter, I jumped in as a consultant and never looked back. I LOVE helping women (and some men) switch to safer products. From body care, to skin care, to makeup, hair, and everything in between. Beautycounter is your one stop shop for SAFER beauty and I’m so excited to share it with you.
